Hello all you beautiful people, hope you've been enjoying my humble return to HelloKimly with the past two posts on what to buy the ladies [or yourself] for Valentines Day.
Call it Commercialization or just plain complacency with how lopsided Vday is and has been for decades, but girls get alllll the love! Men have come to terms that this holiday was meant to break their bank accounts and their brains.
#TBT moment: Last year the night before Valentine's Day I went to HEB to pick up limes for some pho and I have never seen so many wandering, aimless men in the floral department trying to focus long enough to grab $75 1-dozen roses and a random monkey holding a heart balloon.
Bottom line: Men go through so much trouble to make this day special for you because YOU care about it, and they care about you. But if want to preach equal rights, showing them equal love has never been easier. Although I love all the items below, my personal faves are the cashmere travel set and the beard oil [cuz duh I love beards]. Until next year..............lol just kidding! Stay tuned for more posts to come.
Not too much talking today guys, this one's a beauté. Bottom line is this, you have five full days until V-Day [or D-Day if you mess up] and I'm here to help you out. Nothing like rose gold makeup organizers and matching brushes to tell your girl, "Hey, I've noticed you double tapping all those makeup pics on IG and I really care that you care." [rolls eyes]. Click the links, add to cart, and checkout. You'll thank me later.
Side note: The makeup organizers are on Amazon Prime so you can have them here in two days.
Funny how things come full circle. You know if this blog was like a pesky ex, I would leave it back in 2016 where it belongs. However, I have neglected it long enough and now that I have my ish together, I thought I'd bless the interwebs with a post.
Okay, so the SuperBowl is over [finally] and even though we still haven't found Brady's jersey, it's back to our regularly scheduled program. Wait a second. What day is today? The 8th?
VALENTINE'S DAY IS NEXT WEEK?!
Don't fret, my pet [if someone can tell me where that's from without google-ing, 10 pts. for you]. I've got you covered with some suggestions on what to buy the Mrs., the Mistress, or your damn self.
Obvi, these suggestions are not meant for the faint of heart or hue. But, all these beauties are under $250 and honestly us girls can't stand to see one more heart shaped CZ pendant or lopsided teddy bear. Hope this was helpful and stay tuned for a more light hearted counterpart to follow tomorrow. Hasta mañana!
It has been an utter joy to begin to write and show you all a tiny bit of me through this page. It might seem to some people like this is just another girl with a fashion blog. But in reality, this has become my therapy. For writers, the highest form of artistic peace is found when you can share your deepest thoughts alongside simple pleasures.....and people listen.
But I digress.
These last few posts have featured ideas on gifts that a man could buy his woman to express his love for her. But this, the finale, is way sweeter than that.
Valentine's should be about showing love to the unlovable. It should be about making yourself vulnerable in order to experience something real. So to that I conclude that the ultimate gift you can give someone this weekend, or really in life....is honesty. Be honest with yourself, your loved ones, and may real love continue to bless you all.
My gift to you is this excerpt from my good friend's well-versed thoughts on love.
Happy Valentine's Day Lovers....
These two besties are known around the city as the High Dime Duo. While the rest of us are content with mall finds, Blair & Ceci get phone calls from Saks and Neimans when the newest bag arrives. But they too have found someone to love them and their expensive taste; just think sparkle, fur, and fine Italian leather. Let the church say yaaaaaaaasssssss!

In my humble opinion, Valentine's Day shouldn't be so one-sided. As much as a woman deserves to be acknowledged for her grace and beauty, so does the man who has to deal with her crazy, jealous, and sometimes dramatic counterpart. This set is for Titus, the man who enjoys simple (but fashionable) additions to his wardrobe. Built on the basics of a gentleman, Titus is truly the epitome of a modern classic.

Katarina is the beauty obsessed girl who stalks her favorite beauty gurus on ig, snap, and Twitter to stay abreast of the newest products on the market. She never has too many deep purple liquid lipsticks and her highlight can be seen from outer space. Don't try to understand her, just feed her habit and watch her light up like the tops of her perfectly contoured cheekbones.

Monica is the girl who doesn't have time for nonsense. She isn't afraid of attention; on the contrary, she thrives from it. Her super powers include intense direct eye contact and the ability to quote Jay-Z lyrics in the blink of an eye.

Since none of us were fortunate enough to win the 1.6 Billion Dollar Lottery this month, I thought I'd put together a series of gift ideas for Valentine's that didn't include the purchase of an island or renaming Chick-fil-a sauce as Kim-fil-ly sauce. This first set is for Bella, who loves pink, but is more interested in the refined version of the hue she loved as a child. She is edgy but with rounded corners. She dreams of falling in love under the lights of the Eiffel Tower on a brisk Paris evening.

Katherine, Courtney, and I arrived to New York City last Saturday armed with a tentative itinerary, cell phones with chargers and backup chargers (lol), and a Dora the explorer mentality. Though Siri and Courtney made a great team navigating the subway routes, we were never really prepared for what would greet us every time we stepped out onto the NYC streets. A city that is so full of personality and grit, sparkle and spectacles, and people walking with purpose, New York this is how I'll remember you...til we meet again.
Almost forever yours,
